NOTICE OF RACE
1 RULES
The regatta will be governed by the rules of the International 110 Class Association and as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
2 ADVERTISING
Advertising will be restricted to Category A.
3 ELIGIBILITY, ENTRY AND REGISTRATION
3.1 The regatta is open to skippers who are current members of the International 110 Class Association at the time of registration, and who complete the attached Entry Form and submit it, together with the required entry fee, to the Regatta Chairman on or prior to Monday, August 9, 2010.
3.2 Skippers who have entered shall check in at the regatta registration table on Monday, August 9, between 0900 and 2100. Registration shall not be deemed complete until after all necessary measurements of the skipper’s sails and yacht are complete, the yacht has weighed-in, and the yacht has passed the safety equipment inspection.
3.3 A late entry and/or a late registration may be accepted, but races in which the entrant engages prior to receipt of the Entry Form and entry fee, or prior to completion of registration, will not be scored.
4 FEES
The entry fee is $190.
5 MEASUREMENTS AND INSPECTIONS
5.1 Each yacht entered in the regatta shall have a valid measurement certificate on file with the Class Technical Chairman.
5.2 Measurement of new or modified sails, safety equipment inspections and weighing of boats shall take place at the Macatawa Bay Yacht Club on Monday, August 9 between 0900 and 2100 hours. Hull, spar and foil measurements shall be done by appointment only with the Technical Chairman, Fred Eddy. Such appointment should be made prior to Monday, August 9, 2010 to ensure measurements can be completed prior to commencement of races. 5.3 A safety equipment inspection may be conducted by the Race Committee at any time during the regatta.
6 RACE SCHEDULE
6.1 For each race day, the harbor start will be 1000 and the warning signal for the first race of the day will be 1130.
6.2 Monday, 8/09 Entries, Measurements, Inspections and Registration
Tuesday, 8/10 Competitors’Meeting at 0900
Tune-Up Race followed by Race 1
Wednesday, 8/11 Race 2 followed by Race 3
Thursday, 8/12 Race 4 followed by Race 5
Friday, 8/13 Race 6 followed by Race 7.
6.3 The Race Committee shall have the discretion to conduct more than two races per day for the purpose of completing all seven races for the regatta.
7 ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of the International 110 Class Association will be held at 0800 on Thursday, August 12 at MBYC, at which breakfast will be served. In the event all matters on the agenda are not completed prior to 0930, the meeting may be adjourned and continued to a later time or date.
8 SOCIAL EVENTS
Monday, 8/09 Open Night; 110 sail trim and tuning forum at MBYC
Tuesday, 8/10 Commodore’s Reception and Barbecue at MBYC pool area
Wednesday, 8/11 Open Night; meet with Jon Easley of Westease Yacht Svc. Thursday, 8/12 Open Night
Friday, 8/13 Cocktails, Dinner and Awards Ceremony at MBYC.
9 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be provided at registration.
10 PENALTY SYSTEM
Rules 44.1 and 44.2 are changed so that only one turn, including one tack and one gybe, is required.
11 VENUE
The racing area shall be the waters of Lake Michigan and may include Macatawa Bay if required by weather conditions, as determined by the Race Committee.
12 THE COURSES

The courses to be sailed will be set using drop marks.
13 SCORING
13.1 The low point scoring system shall be used.
13.2 A minimum of three completed races shall constitute a series.

13.3 a) When fewer than five races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.

(b) When five to seven races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
14 BERTHING
Competing yachts may be drysailed at Macatawa Bay Yacht Club and shall provide their own lifting slings.
15 HOUSING
Competitors are encouraged to make housing arrangements early. Accommodations aboard yachts at the Macatawa Bay Yacht Club harbor and at neighboring marinas, as well as at homes of local sailors will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. 16 PRIZES
In addition to the perpetual trophies of the International 110 Class Association, prizes will be awarded to the following:
Top three overall competitor teams, daily race winner teams, top youth team (skipper and crew under 21 years of age), top female skipper, top master skipper (over 55 years of age).
17 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See Rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the regatta.
